Modern Romantic Microwedding

The email for this photo shoot came during the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. I had been sitting in my apartment dreaming about weddings and creating beautiful things for over a month. I needed to create something!
This modern romantic shoot allowed me to create things for an event that I wouldn’t have thought too without everything going on. We turned this styled photo shoot into a microwedding theme. I’m pretty sure all of the vendors involved were just so excited to be creating something!
I started with what would have been their invites and wedding stationery. The overall theme was modern romantic with neutral pastels. The invitations included spot calligraphy and hand drawn florals in the top and bottom corners. I used a light tan color and a dark grey to keep them neutral and let the other elements stand out. How amazing do they look paired with these funky stamps and whimsical flowers?

For this shoot I was able to upcycle this white acrylic sign (it was formerly a seating chart) for a wonderful welcome sign! This copper stand is also available for rental.

Also, let’s shout out AHR Florals! These flowers and the decorated fountain in the background is ah-mazing!

For each place setting, I created these simple place cards that were then tied to each napkin. On the top left corner of each place card were the same flowers that I had on the invites. I then paired them with a tan cut paper behind them, with a light blue chiffon satin ribbon.

I love the way this bar sign turned out! I wanted to bring in the square design from their invites on the same white acrylic as the welcome sign.

I know I’ve said it before, but I love when we use real couples as the models for styled photo shoots. Everything comes together so much easier and the photos look incredible (not only because Lindsey is crazy good at what she does) but because their chemistry is undeniable.

I made this sign for Briel and Jordan to take home after the day. Since I didn’t get to be there, I hope they loved it as much as I did creating everything.
